Cervelo restoration project
This beautiful bike was chipped and dinged. The clear coat was flaking away. The frame design is amazing and with carbon fibre cranks, forks, seat post and Durace components – it deserved some loving!
After some very careful sanding, detailing, adding new Cervelo stickers, and masking I sprayed 2 coats of Durepox Clear Gloss. Durepox is the hardest wearing paint on the planet. Often used for race cars, engines, aircraft and Americas Cup racing yachts. It is an Epoxy and a Urethane style paint combined and pioneered in NZ in 1983. It’s had loads of improvements and this is what I use on all bike and carbon fibre repairs.
With new decals on the frame, the bike came up well and most people assume it’s brand new.
